The sun was bright, the breeze warm and water splashed all about me. Ahhh the beauty of summer! As I held on with all my might, the boat pulled us along on "The Monster," an oversized inner tube with handles. Wave after wave we bounced and thrilled, laughing and smiling. As the water sprayed in my face my mascara began to run and burn my eyes. What was I thinking? Why did I wear mascara today? Before long my eyes were closed tight and all my efforts were focused on the firm grip keeping me aboard this wild ride.
The memory of the fun we shared that day returne dto me as I sought the Lord this morning becuase His Word says:
God's eye is on those who respect him ... Psalm 33:18 The Message
God keeps an eye on his friends* ... Psalm 34:15a The Message
That day my eyes were closed, no lnoger useful in helping me see waht was coming next. Yet I'm reminded that God doe snot close His eyes, instead He is ever watching me, looking out for me, knowing what is yet ahead. But, how can I know I am His friend*? Jesus tells us plainly ...
You are my friends when you do the things I command you. John 15:15 The Message
Are you listening for His commands, obeying with anticipation? His eye is every on you --- and me! What a comfort! What a joy --- knowing that He who created our world has not forgotten us and does not close His eye to where we are. He calls us His friend. I'd love to hear about your special time with Him!
