5 Women of Genealogy - Lesson 4

LESSON 4 - Uriah’s wife (Bathsheba)
BATHSHEBA: Married woman ordered to become an adulterer, yet the mother of the wisest king that ever lived …

Life synopsis … Bathsheba came from an upper class family, including a husband and father named among King David’s mighty men (ref 2 Samuel 11:3), as well as a grandfather who was King David’s counselor (ref 2 Samuel 15:12). Little is known of her personally, except that she obeyed ceremonial laws (ref 2 Samuel 11:4) and the King’s order, which led to the wrongful deaths of her husband and child. Yet God’s redemptive kindness was seen when birthed through her came the wisest king that ever lived.
